Ashwagandha – The Natural Stress Buster

Ashwagandha, scientifically known as Withaniasomnifera, considered a 'natural stress buster' for the ability to make the human body and mind cope well with the ill-effects of stresses.

Commonly found in India and North America, ashwagandha herbs efficacy is known to have excellent anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-oxidant and aphrodisiac properties for both men and women. Ashwagandha root, also called Indian Gensing, helps in improving the body's immunity.

According to Ayurvedic practitioners, Ashwagandha has rejuvenating properties and prolong life. It has a variety of medicinal benefits; it is known to help in disorders such as fatigue, arthritis, impotence, premature aging and treat constipation.

Recent studies have shown Ashwagandha into preventive medicine or therapy for stress-induced neurological disorders. The plant extracts are also believed to have sedative properties and proven to be effective in the treatment of memory loss.

Ashwagandha root has been used for many years in the traditional medicine system of Ayurveda. Some modern research found that Ashwagandha manifests as the ability to assist in the reduction of inflammation and stress.

It is also known to improve physical and mental vitality and works as an anti-oxidant. When administered in the form of tonics, extracts of herbs provide excellent food for tissues, muscles, bones, reproductive system and adrenals.

Because the property is its anti-stress, Ashwagandha is useful in treating stress-related illnesses such as hypertension, heart disease, and general fatigue. It can be given as an anti-depressant, without side effects.
